Music To Drive (to work) By 4..16.12 Edition

Some time last week I figured I’d start doing music posts again. I’m going to try to do them fairly regularly on Monday or Tuesday mornings, but I’m not making any promises. I just need to think of a better name than Music To Drive (to work) By. Help me out folks, I’ll send the winner some music or some shit. I don’t know. LOL

I’d also like to state that I listen to mostly beat tapes and classic rock, so there will be a LOT of that posted. You will just have to deal with it.

This first drop is going to be the biggest one, I’ll more than likely taper off to about 2-3 projects per post after today. On to the music..

For me, it’s not really late spring/summer until I have the urge to listen to Reasonable Doubt 15 times a week. Not the shit ass re-issue with Coming of Age Part 2 on it either,  the original jawn.

Jansport J’s Movemeants II: The Reprise is a delightful collection of hard hitting hi….man fuck that. The home skillet Jansport J did it again. I first got hipped to him via Twitter @JansportJ  while having a music discussion a few years back. Been a fan and supporter ever since. My favorite jawns *SO FAR* on this project is “Lights Down Low” and “She Just Wants To Be Free(Let Go)” .  Check out his bandcamp page for his other albums, especially the jawn with Hawdwerk.

Thundercat’s The Golden Age of Apocalypse is great. My favorite tracks from this album are “Is It Love”, “For Love (I Come Your Friend), and “It Doesn’t Really Matter To You”.

He’s someone that you may have heard of but didn’t realize who he was.  If you’re NOT familiar, let me help you out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=5GGZwqfKG14 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8qGigIMM1Vw  .Sorry for not embedding the video but whatever code is being used now for WordPress isn’t playing nice with Youtube for whatever reason. I’ll try to figure out how to get it to work later or something.

Anyway, purchase lank son!  Yes, I buy a majority of my music…especially if it’s awesome sauce.
